Removal and installation of a beam of a forward suspension bracket

After installation the beam of a forward suspension bracket has to undergo geometrical testing.


 REMOVAL

1 Remove the lower cover of a motive compartment, address to the Section Removal and installation of the lower cover of a motive compartment.
2 Raise the engine and turn off fastenings of support of the engine from a beam at the left and on the right, address to the Section Removal and installation of the pallet of a case.
3 Mark paint the provision of the corresponding forward wheel concerning a nave. It will allow to establish at assembly the balanced wheel in its former situation. Weaken bolts of fastening of a wheel at the car standing on the earth. Lift forward part of the car, put it on supports and remove a forward wheel.

4 Turn off bolts of fastening of the lower amplifier-1-(an arrow on an illustration).

5 If there is a clearance sensor, disconnect it from a beam (the shooter on an illustration).

6 Disconnect the cross lever-1-from an engine beam at the left and on the right (shooters on an illustration).

7 Turn off nuts (the shooter on an illustration) at the left and on the right. Disconnect the sharovy hinge of the cross lever-1-by means of a plastic fist.

8 Turn off bolts of fastening and remove the steering mechanism-1-from a beam of a suspension bracket-2-(shooters on an illustration).

9 Install in the center under a beam the garage elevator with wooden laying. Prop up a beam.

On an illustration the engine elevator with BMW-312220 pro-rate is shown.

10 Turn off bolts of fastening of a beam of a suspension bracket to an engine beam.
11 Carefully lower a beam by means of the garage elevator.


 INSTALLATION

12 Establish a beam of a suspension bracket and fix an engine beam new bolts with the efforts specified in Specifications.

At first fix both back bolts, in relation to the direction "forward".

13 Fix the steering mechanism on a suspension bracket beam the new self-stopped nuts the moment of 42 N • m.
14 Clear of greasing a pin on the spherical hinge of the cross lever, and also an opening in a suspension bracket beam. Insert the hinge into an opening of a beam and press the elevator up. Thus, it is easier to tighten a nut. The moment of an inhaling makes 80 N • m.
15 Fix the holder of the cross lever on an engine beam at the left and on the right the moment of 60 N • m.
16 If the clearance sensor was removed, fix it on a suspension bracket beam.
17 Fix bolts the lower amplifier the moment 60 N • m.
18 Fix engine support bolts to an engine beam the moment 47 N • m.
19 Establish the lower cover of a motive compartment, address to the Section Removal and installation of the lower cover of a motive compartment.
20 Remove the lifting device of the engine.
21 Establish into place a forward wheel so that the markings put at removal coincided. Previously grease with a thin layer of bearing greasing the aligning wheel disk belt on a nave. Do not grease bolts of fastening of a wheel. Replace rusty bolts. Wrap bolts. Lower the car on wheels and tighten bolts cross-wise the moment of 100 N • m.
22 Measure geometrical parameters of a running gear on HUNDRED.
