BMW 3 of the E46 series

1 Mark paint the provision of the corresponding back wheel concerning a nave. It will allow to establish at assembly the balanced wheel in its former situation. Weaken bolts of fastening of a wheel at the car standing on the earth. Lift back part of the car, put it on supports and remove a back wheel.
2 Remove a power shaft, address to appropriate section.
3 Remove facing of a fuel tank in back part.
4 Disconnect the stabilizer of cross stability on the relevant party.

5 Disconnect the holder of a brake hose from the longitudinal lever. It is impossible to subject a brake hose to the stretching loading.

6 Prop up the lower cross lever the-4-garage elevator, thus enclose wooden laying.

If this condition is not met, the suspension bracket after a detachment of the shock-absorber falls down.

7 Disconnect the shock-absorber-1-from the holder of a wheel. Note the provision of both washers for the subsequent correct installation. The persistent washer of a-3-rubber support shows towards a head of a bolt-2-.
8 Lower the garage elevator.

9 Wring out a wheel suspension bracket down and take out a spring-1-aside.

10 Check linings of springs above and below on existence of damages, if necessary replace. Thus grease the top lining of a spring before installation with means for sliding, for example, soap or paste for installation of tires.
11 Wring out a suspension bracket down and insert a spring.
12 raise the lower lever the garage elevator A little.
13 Fix the shock-absorber below, without tightening a fastening nut so far. Do not forget to put thus a washer from both parties of fastening of the shock-absorber. The persistent washer of a rubber support has to show towards a bolt head.
14 Take away the elevator.
15 Fix the holder of a brake hose at the longitudinal lever.

Thus the brake hose should not be exposed to the stretching loadings.

16 Fix the stabilizer on the relevant party of the car.
17 Establish a power shaft, address to appropriate section.
18 Establish into place a back wheel so that the markings put at removal coincided. Previously grease with a thin layer of bearing greasing the aligning wheel disk belt on a nave. Do not grease bolts of fastening of a wheel. Replace rusty bolts. Wrap bolts. Lower the car on wheels and tighten bolts cross-wise the moment of 100 N • m.
19 V an empty condition of the car tighten a bolt of fastening of the shock-absorber the moment of 100 N • m, address to the Section Removal and installation of the back shock-absorber.
20 Fix facing of a fuel tank in back part.
