Removal and installation of a radiator

As a result of long operation of the car thin channels in a radiator can get littered with rainfall containing in cooling liquid, and limy deposits. Thereof efficiency of cooling significantly decreases and the engine overheats. The only way of correction of a situation is replacement of a radiator.

If oil gets to a contour of cooling, for example, at defect of sealing laying of a head of cylinders, after the carried-out repair it is necessary to remove a radiator and a broad tank and to wash out the usual clearing means. Observe thus instructions of the manufacturer of the clearing means. After installation of a radiator into place it is necessary to fill several times all cooling system with hot water and to merge it.

Liquid after washing cannot be poured out. Observe instructions of her producer. Local authorities have to provide information on places of possible utilization of similar liquids.


 REMOVAL

1 Remove a fan casing, address to the Section Removal and installation of a fan/casing of the fan.
2 Merge cooling liquid and utilize it, address to the Section Replacement of Cooling Liquid.
3 Petrol engine: Remove a box of the air filter on absorption, address to the Section Removal and installation of the air filter of the engine.
4 Disconnect hoses of cooling liquid from above and from below on a radiator. For this purpose by means of a small screw-driver remove upward clamps of quick disconnect couplings, address to the Section Connection and separation of the quick disconnect coupling.
5 Disconnect from below at the left at a radiator a level sensor cable.

6 Turn out at the left above at a radiator the screw-1-.

The corresponding screw on the right at a radiator was turned out already at removal of a casing of the fan.

7 Incline a radiator above back, then take out from the lower holders up.

Radiators of the power steering and conditioner are located before an engine radiator in the holder of the module. For removal of these radiators it is previously necessary to remove an engine radiator. The contour of cooling of the conditioner is allowed to be opened only with a specialized workshop having the corresponding equipment. There is a danger of accident, address to Section 11.

Plates of a radiator have sharp edges therefore it is recommended to use for removal of a radiator mittens.



 INSTALLATION

8 Check all hoses of the cooling system for existence of cuts, cracks and other damages. If it is necessary, replace them. Check a condition of both lower rubber support of a radiator.

9 Insert a radiator from above so that rubber support sat down precisely in slips (black arrows on illustrations).
10 Incline a radiator forward and screw the top screw from a branch pipe for filling with water.

11 Establish a fan casing, address to the Section Removal and installation of a fan/casing of the fan.
12 Attach a cable to the level sensor at the left below at a radiator.
13 Check visually sealing rings in quick disconnect couplings. In the presence of deformations replace.
14 Press wire clamps on couplings. Connect hoses to a radiator. Thus quick disconnect couplings have to be latched distinctly, address to the Section Connection and separation of the quick disconnect coupling.
15 Petrol engine: Establish a box of the air filter for the soaked-up air, address to the Section Removal and installation of the air filter of the engine.
16 Fill system with liquid and remove from it air, address to the Section Replacement of Cooling Liquid.
