Removal and installation of the air filter of the engine

At diesel engines 320d the air filter is located directly on the engine and built in a cover of a head of cylinders.


 REMOVAL

1 Cars with the tempostaty: Turn off bolts of fastening and remove the electric motor of a tempostat from the holder (an arrow on an illustration). Take the electric motor with the attached wires aside.

2 Disconnect the soaking-up pipe from the forward party of the air filter.

3 Remove a screw-driver both brackets-2-at the measuring instrument of mass of air. Regulators on the plug-3-and a collar-1-should not be weakened.

4 Turn out the screw-1-and take out a box of the air filter up. Instruction: In a point-2-under the air filter there is a rubber support. On an illustration the air filter without the filtering element and the top part is shown.


 INSTALLATION

5 Install the case of the air filter on the lower rubber support. Thus connect the soaking-up pipe from the forward party of the air filter.
6 Fix the screw-1-.
7 Install the weight measuring instrument with a sealing ring and fix brackets.

Replace the damaged sealing ring.

8 Cars with the tempostaty: Fix the electric motor of the device of regulation of speed on the holder.
