BMW 3 of the E46 series

1 Moisten a windshield with water.
2 Include for a short time a screen wiper and stop it the switch. Thus the cleaner stops in a starting position.
3 Disconnect a negative cable (-) of the battery at the switched-off ignition. The battery is in a luggage compartment behind a cover on the right side. At BMW 318i cars the battery settles down in a motive compartment.

As a result of shutdown of the battery data from memory of malfunctions of some monitors are erased. If necessary before shutdown of the battery it is necessary to consider these memories of malfunctions. Address to the Section Diagnostics of Malfunctions. Work it is desirable to carry out HUNDRED in conditions.

4 Note the provision of a brush of a screen wiper on a windshield. For this purpose near a brush paste on strip glass.

5 Uncover a screw-driver fastening of a screen wiper at the left and on the right.

6 Turn off nuts-1-.

7 Remove both levers by means of a usual stripper from axes. Levers sit very strongly and are not removed without special tool. The opening of cams of a stripper has to be not less than 16.3 mm. On an accompanying illustration BMW stripper – 616000 is represented. However it is possible to use also the HAZET 1966-5 tool. On an illustration, for an example, the lever of other car is shown.

8 Take out adjusting plugs from cleaner levers.

9 Install into place the lever and expose it according to the markings put on a windshield.

10 Install the-2-adjusting plug-1-on an axis and press it aflush with the lever-3-.

11 Fix the lever the moment of 25 N • m and in 15 min. once again the moment of 25 N • m.
12 Put a cover on a fastening nut.
13 Similarly install the second lever.
14 Attach a negative cable (-) of the battery at the switched-off ignition. Establish hours.
