Catalytic converter

The catalytic converter reduces toxicity of the fulfilled gases.

It is allowed to fill only on unleaded gasoline.

Even insignificant impurity of tetraethyllead has enough completely to put the oxygen sensor and the catalytic converter out of action.

In order to avoid possible damages and for ensuring trouble-free operation of the engine it is necessary to follow the following rules:

- Surely carry out all established works on maintenance.
- Watch timely refueling of a tank.
- At emergence of interruptions in operation of the engine at once suppress it.
- Start by towage is possible only with the cold engine. Otherwise not burned down fuel will get to the catalytic converter. For start of the engine it is better to use auxiliary cables.

Avoid other situations at which fuel burns down not completely or does not burn down at all, for example frequent or long use of a starter with short intervals between inclusions, repeated unsuccessful attempts to start the engine (thus start or a stop of the engine serviceable in every respect does not mean), operation of the engine at the removed spark plug tip.

Surely observe the above-stated recommendations, differently not burned down fuel will get to the catalytic converter. Danger of an overheat and damage of the catalytic converter will result.

During the operation of the catalytic converter, on whatever car it was installed, high temperature develops. The heat-shielding screens mounted in a zone of exhaust devices cannot be removed or covered with anticorrosive mastic. It is necessary to watch that during the movement, during the operation of the engine idling or on the parking the heated parts of system of production of the fulfilled gases did not appear in dangerous proximity from flammable materials (a grass, foliage, straw, etc.). Otherwise there is a danger of their ignition connected with risk of severe injuries for victims and causing significant material damage.
