Disk brakes

Disk brakes provides optimum efficiency of braking, dispensing of brake forces and load ability.

Insignificant run, long-term storage on the parking and small loadings cause corrosion of brake disks and pollution of brake shoes as when braking that minimum effort of pressing of blocks to disks which is necessary for self-cleaning of disk brakes does not develop.

Korrodirovavshy disks create the characteristic sound effect which is not eliminated even by long braking during the work of brake system.

Use only brake shoes certified by BMW. Otherwise the admission of the car to operation becomes invalid.

Features of management

During wet weather or at a heavy rain it is expedient to brake through each some kilometers easy short pressing a pedal. Thus watch to creating problems to other participants of traffic. The warmth which is marked out when braking will dry up brake disks and blocks.

It is known that optimum efficiency of braking is reached not at the blocked wheels, and at their swing on the verge of blocking. The ABS system provides such mode automatically. At its refusal it is necessary to use whenever possible periodic braking (address to the Section of Feature of driving of the car).

The movement on long or abrupt descents of mountain roads will not lead to loss of efficiency of brakes if to move on such transfer or at such position of the lever of the AT selector at which the minimum of braking will be required.

Switching on lowered (up to the first) transfer or the translation of the lever of the AT selector up to situation 1 or 2 it is possible to increase brake effect of the engine, besides.

If it it appears insufficiently for delay of the car, avoid long braking with intensity below average. Instead the car vigorous pressing a pedal is better (watching a situation behind) to slow down and if necessary to continue braking with short pauses (in the periodic mode). In breaks of a brake will be cooled that will protect them from an overheat and will allow to keep full brake capacity.

Never go with the squeezed-out coupling, at neutral position of the lever of gear shifting or the lever of the AT selector, and furthermore with the switched-off engine. On neutral transfer there is no brake effect of the engine, and at the switched-off engine the amplifier of brakes does not operate.

Should not stir the course of pedals of a brake, coupling and an accelerator polovichka, a carpet of a floor or other subjects.
