Replacement of the filtering element of the air filter

The filtering element of the air filter of the engine needs to be replaced only in that case when it is polluted. Under normal conditions operation the interval between replacements makes to 100.000 km. The filtering element should not be cleared gasoline or to oil. It is also not necessary to blow the filter compressed air.


Petrol engines:

 REMOVAL

1 Open clips of-1 covers of the filter.

2 Slightly raise around a filter cover.

3 Lift a cover of the filter and take out the filtering element-1-(address to an accompanying illustration).

4 Wipe the filter case a damp rag.


 INSTALLATION

1 Insert the new filtering element into the filter case.
2 Put into place a cover and fix it clips.


Diesel engine 320d

 REMOVAL

1 Remove an element of the air filter of ventilation, heating and the conditioner, address to the Section Replacement of an Element of the Filter of Air of Salon.

2 Open a cable channel at the lower part of the case of the filter-2-and take out a cable.

3 Turn out bolts-1-and remove the lower part of the case of the filter-2-.
4 Uncover openings for filling with oil.

5 Turn off bolts-1-, remove facing of the engine-2-.

6 Unscrew screws-1-and uncover the air filter at a head of cylinders. On an accompanying illustration on both left screws face keys are visible.

7 Take out the filtering element back. Wipe the filter case a damp rag.


 INSTALLATION

1 Install the new filtering element in the filter case. The back holder on an illustration shows down.

2 Fix a cover of the air filter on a head of cylinders. Instruction: It is inconveniently to wrap an external bolt of fastening between a box of the air filter and a wall of a motive compartment. It is recommended to fix at first a cover of the filter without the filtering element to understand how the specified bolt is established. Then establish the filtering element and fix a cover at first the specified bolt.
3 Fix the soaking-up air hose and facing of the engine.
4 Screw an opening cover for an oil flood.
5 Fix the lower part of an aircombined box.
6 Lay a cable in a cable channel at the lower part of the case of the filter. Close a cable channel.
7 Establish into place an element of the air filter of ventilation, heating and the conditioner, address to the Section Replacement of an Element of the Filter of Air of Salon.
