Braking

Operating the car, do not hold a foot on a brake pedal. Even insignificant on force, but long impact on a pedal can have the consequence heating of brakes, their wear, and it is possible, and refusal of all system.

Hydroplaning


At the movement on the roads covered with water or wet dirt reduce the speed as between the tire and a basic surface the water wedge can be formed. Pools on the road


If it is necessary to go on pools, their depth should not exceed 30 cm. With such depth it is necessary to go with the pedestrian's a speed, otherwise damage of the engine, electric equipment and a box of gear shifting is not excluded.

The shelf behind a back seat


It is impossible to put heavy or firm subjects as at the maneuvers connected with braking they can injure the people who are in the car on the shelf.

Hooks for clothes


The clothes on hooks should be hung up so that it did not block the review for the driver. In order to avoid injuries at sharp braking it is impossible to hang up heavy subjects on these hooks.

Features of management of the car in the winter

Start-off from a place


At start-off from a place if the car costs in deep snow, or at departure "vraskachka" it is recommended to disconnect ASC+T/DSC system *, address to the Section System of Automatic Stabilization of Stability with the ASC+T/engine torque regulator System of dynamic control of stability of DSC.

The movement in ice


Working with an accelerator pedal, try to feel reaction of the car. Avoid also high-speed modes and in due time pass to overgears. At the movement under a bias or on rises in due time pass to low gears. Maintain a safe distance to ahead the going car.

Braking


Road conditions are that in the winter that coupling of tires with a road surface significantly decreases. Being in any situation, the driver has to consider the significant increase in a brake way caused by it.

When braking ABS prevents blocking of wheels thanks to what the car keeps controllability and stability.

If in case of refusal wheel ABS nevertheless are blocked, that, without stopping braking, weaken pressure upon a pedal exactly so that swing of wheels was resumed.

Then increase effort to a pedal, from the moment of blocking of wheels again reduce it, then again increase, etc.

Such periodic braking reduces a brake way, allowing to keep controllability of the car at the same time.

Therefore you can always still try to go round a dangerous place after weakening of impact on a pedal.

On the slippery road it is impossible to switch for delay of the car to a low gear as it can cause sliding of back wheels and, as a result, loss of control over the car.

At sharp braking on the slippery road or at an uneven skolzkost of a paving you always have to squeeze out a coupling pedal.

Drift


Squeeze out coupling and dump gas or transfer the AT selector lever to situation N. Working with a steering wheel, try to level the car and to return it controllability.

Parking


Include the first transfer or transfer of a backing or transfer the AT selector lever to situation P. Depending on a bias of the road tighten the parking brake. Traction coupling device *


The optimum design of a running gear of your car guarantees high traffic safety and comfort, and also possibility of a sports manner of driving.

If the traction coupling device is installed at plant, the car is equipped with the strengthened suspension bracket * the back bridge which compensates the weight of the traction coupling device and optimizes dynamic characteristics at the movement without trailer.

When retrofitting the car the traction coupling device * it has to have certification of BMW. And its installation has to be made technically competently on firm HUNDRED. It is also recommended to retrofit the car the strengthened suspension bracket.

Other systems of a suspension bracket offered to free sale in system of trade in autoaccessories have no certification of BMW.

With a spherical head it is necessary to look after the traction coupling device according to the enclosed instructions of the manufacturer that will provide possibility of fast installation and dismantle of the device.

Installation of the traction coupling device limits system effectiveness of the rear bumpers absorbing energy of collisions at small speeds due to elastic deformations.

The stabilizing adaptations are recommended to be used first of all at towage of the heavy trailer. It is possible to consult about it on any HUNDRED BMWs.

 REMOVAL

1 Undertake cut in the lower part of a cover of a nest and pull it back.
2 Before removal and installation of a spherical head study the enclosed instruction.


 INSTALLATION

Insert a cover in directing and then press it.

Permissible load on a support of a dyshl

It is about loading with which dyshlo the trailer presses on a spherical head of the traction coupling device. It is possible to determine it, for example, by bathroom household scales.

By the rules existing in Germany it is size has to make at least 25 kg.

Admissible size cannot be exceeded (address to Specifications), however its maximum use is desirable.

The weight with which dyshlo the trailer presses on the support, has impact on behavior of the car. Therefore at the movement with the trailer admissible indicators of full mass of the car and load of the road from its back bridge should not be exceeded. Also the indicator of admissible lump of the car with the trailer should not be exceeded.

Loading


Loading of the trailer has to be made so that freight was placed as it is possible below and as it is possible closer to a bridge axis.

Decrease of the center of gravity of the trailer significantly improves traffic safety of the car with the trailer.

It is impossible to exceed indicators of lump of the trailer and admissible mass of the towed freight. Smaller size is defining.

Upon purchase of the trailer it is recommended to request from the seller guarantee confirmation by the manufacturer of his actual weight and loading capacity.

The movement on rise


The size of the overcome bias (measured at sea level) is limited 12% for safety reasons and in order to avoid creation of hindrances to a transport stream, and with the increased mass of the towed freight (in the resolved cases) - 8%.

From experience it is known that in process of increase in height above sea level engine capacity falls. At the movement on mountain roads it is necessary to remember, in particular, deterioration of ability to start-off from a place on rise in this connection it is necessary to refuse full use of admissible limits of mass of the car and the trailer.

The movement under a bias


The special attention is demanded by descents of roads. On an entrance to them it is necessary to switch to a low gear, if necessary up to the first (at AT complete set the lever of the selector is transferred to situation 2) then at a small speed to move under a bias.

Maximum speed


The maximum speed of the movement with the trailer on roads of Germany is limited 80 km/h. The admissible mass of the towed freight are determined so that at this speed normal trajectory stability is provided. Even if in other countries the movement with higher speed is authorized, all the same for safety reasons it is not necessary to go quicker.

Wagging of the trailer can be eliminated only with immediate braking.

Air pressure in tires


Air pressure in tires of the car and the trailer has to be a subject of special attention. For the trailer the norms established by his manufacturer are defining.

Rear-view mirrors


If at the movement with the trailer the review sector through serially established external rear-view mirrors is insufficient, rules offer to establish instead of them two mirrors in which the driver can see the trailer to back edge of each of boards. Electric equipment
